The word "sofa" comes from the Arabic word "suffah" meaning a bench covered with cushions and blankets! Meanwhile, "sophisticated" originally meant "corrupted" or "adulterated" but evolved to mean refined and cultured. College education aims to make students more sophisticated in the modern sense!
